3. "AUSTRALIAN" DETECTORS - DONT BE FOOLED!
You don't need a detector that says Australia or NZ on it for it to work in

for Australia. The key issue here isn't detecting the right frequencies,
it's
whether your detector is sensitive enough to pick up the very small
amount of power the multanova emits.

6. "AUSTRALIAN PROGRAMMED" DETECTORS
You may have seen some detectors claiming to be "Australian and New Zealand
programmed". Most of the time, all this means is that the correct bands and
functions have been turned on or off, if the detector has that feature. After
reading the manual for a few minutes, and knowing what bands you want on, a 2
year old could program the detector. This is just a buzz word used by some
detectors to trick you into paying more for your detector.
7. LASER DETECTION
All radar detectors are actually very unreliable at detecting hand held laser.
This is just a fact of science that radar detectors can not avoid. The beam of
infrared light emitted from laser guns is very small compared to that of a
radar gun. The 'instant on' nature of the gun ie: it is only emitting laser
when the officer pulls the trigger, also contributes to the difficulty of
detecting it. However, the laser gun doesn't always return the speed of your
vehicle on the very first go. This means that sometimes the laser can be
detected a few seconds before acquiring your speed, giving you a short period
of time to reduce your speed. If you are speeding, it is unlikely to save you
from getting a ticket entirely, but it can give you a few precious seconds to
reduce your speed, and reduce the severity of the fine.
If you encounter laser often we recommend purchasing the V1, which has
